Past Events

The E-type Club would like to offer you a chance to 'Virtually' join in with events even if you are physically not able to attend.  As we are now able to update the websites in house and on a regular basis we are now able to update members on past, future & now even present events.  Starting  with the E-type Tour of Spain we were able to communicate with our on-tour organisers Paul & Fiona

There were huge sighs of relief, when after almost 24 hours of rain, the skies cleared for the third E-type Club day.

Over 50 E-types made the journey to Club Headquarters in the heart of Worcestershire for the annual celebration of all things E.  Club members, enthusiasts and specialists mingled at the event, which is fast becoming a staple of every owner’s calendar.

July 14

April 25-28           Moors and Wolds Tour, Yorkshire

I am delighted to announce a three night mid-week, UK break in North Yorkshire. This tour will take you to some spectacular heights visiting Yorkshire’s Moors and Wolds. This tour represents great value where all meals are included and to round off the event in style, there will be a champagne reception on the final evening. We have offered this tour as a result of the useful feedback we received from the questionnaires.

Some of you may be aware of the XK Club’s legendary member and Northern Region Representative, Mike Griffiths, who is famed for his excellent routes in the Northern parts of the British Isles. Mike has very kindly gifted these tour routes for our E-types to enjoy, and hopefully the odd rubber mark will remain on the roads, as testament to the fun had by all, on the XK Club’s outing in 2005.

Your hotel and base for this three night stay is the MacDonald Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley. A beautiful and historic property, which dates back as far as the 15th Century, starting as a Coaching Inn, which today has grown to combine the traditional character of Elizabethan, Georgian and Tudor architecture, which forms this charming hotel. It overlooks Helmsley’s idyllic market square.

The first drive will take you over the undulating crests of the Wolds and the Howardian hills, which afford sweeping panoramas of the Vale of York to the west, the Humber to the south, the North Sea to the east, and the Moors to the north.

September 26 - October 3

Red Rock Rallye 2007

This Rallye was open to cars that are 1974 or older and the tour took the participants to:

  • Zion National Park, with precipitous canyon walls and massive stone monoliths.
  • Bryce Canyon National Park, where erosive forces have created thousands of spires, pillars and rocky temples.
  • Arches National Park, nowhere else in the world will you see a greater number of natural stone arches and imaginative stone formations.
  • Capitol Reef National Park with its dome-like formations.
  • Canyonlands National Park, the deep watery crevices that form and erode in goosenecks throughout the land.
  • Grand staircase Escalante National Monument, miles of unparalleled beauty.

They were able to experience canyons, mesas, winding rivers, mountain ranges, Native American ruins, vast expanses of open space, lands so exceptional that they are protected for the enjoyment, education and recreation of people.

October 7-13             The Loire Tour Chateau Experience

The wonderful 7 day journey went through the Loire region of France, starting with a drive through the D-Day landing sites and the bloody battlefields sites of yesteryear, then headed on to the enchanted settings, where members were able to sample some stunning examples of France’s finest Chateaux.
