Readers of the Daily Telegraph (UK) have voted the Jaguar E-type the most beautiful car of all time. The E-type received almost four times as many votes as any other car putting it in top position ahead of the Citroen DS at number two and the Classic Jaguar XK 120/140/150 (Ed - yes, all these XKs were all lumped together!) which achieved a creditable third position.

Tubeless Wires from MWS
MWS International (Tel +44(0)1753 549360, www.mwsint.com) has gone tubeless. Though this was always thought to be impossible with wire wheels due to the spokes going through the rim, going tubeless has become highly desirableas tyres designed to be used with inner tubes have all but disappeared.
Price for the silver-painted 5.5x15in 72-spoke Jaguar wheel (part XW5744S-TL) is £202 retail and for the chrome wheel (XW5744C/3-TL) is £275.84.
The E-type Club Welcomes Two New Representatives
Warwickshire: Andy Phillips
Andy writes, “I am exploring the possibility of a new event at Gaydon Motor Museum for E-type owners, on Sunday 19th July 2009 and in order to secure this I need to attract at least 40 people at a cost of £7 per person. Attractions include: the worlds largest collection of historic British cars, the Land-Rover 4x4 off-road experience, outdoor go-kart circuit, miniature assault course/play area, gift shop, 120-seat licensed café. If you wish to find out more then visit the website, www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk. We will have our own designated parking for 100 cars and availability for one trade stand. If you are interested then please email me at andy.phillips13@yahoo.co.uk. If enough interest is generated, I will inform the relevant people and go ahead with the booking. The £7 fee would have to be paid in advance to secure the booking; this would also give you entry to the museum (and is at a discounted rate).
Central Southern England: Ken Chisholm
Ken writes, “As an enthusiastic Jaguar driver, (Series II E-type, XK 140 DHC, along with a new XKR and S-type R), I would be pleased to offer my services. I live in mid Hampshire and could probably fill in the area between Paul Abadjian in the west and Peter Spackman in Surrey. I have had much experience within the Jaguar community
(JDC/JEC) and am still an active participant in some of the less demanding regularity
rallies. In addition, I would be happy to organise a few activities during the year. My

New Spinners From MWS
MWS recommends these new three-eared 8TPI Type 42 spinners (£30+VAT each) for use with the 42mm forged wheel centres now used in MWS’s XW range of wire wheels: they give more turns than other caps on the market, thus increasing the safety margin. 12TPI spinners will also be available by the time you read this. E50 Update
Jaguar Cars will be organising the E50 events. We are keeping closely in touch about this.
E-type Club E50 events
Our plan is to have two tours:
1. A E50 UK Tour which will finish at the main E50 event.
2. A second. Italian Job Tour which will start from the event, with cars flagged away. We will then travel to Geneva and on to Italy, 'following' my roadster, which was in the film.
We will also offer weekend packages for those wishing to attend the main event and we have not forgotten that many members from outside Europe are keen to be involved, which is great.
We will do our best to offer something for every Club member, whether attending with their E-type or flying over.

Lindner Nocker - Completed After A Mere 5 1/2 Thousand Man Hours!
CMC have just finished one of the most challenging projects ever undertaken on any car.
Over five and a half thousand skilled man hours have gone into the restoration of what is regarded by aficionados as the most beautiful E-Type ever produced, the Lindner/Nocker Lightweight.
Please click on the following link to view images of the Lindner Nocker car on the Classic Motor Cars website.
CMC Expanding!
The already impressive Classic Motor Cars set-up is now even more so. By taking on two more adjacent units, CMC have doubled their floor space, which has allowed considerable reorganisation. The new area is being used for building up cars after paint. So, when a restoration commences, the bodywork (the 'dirty' work) continues to be done in one dedicated shop, while all the other parts are now stored in racking on a mezzanine floor above the new shop. After painting, the shell is taken into the new area, the parts are moved to racking alongside the shell and the fitting up takes
place in a clean, spacious, ideal environment. Partitioned off from this area is a new, larger trim shop (see details below). Additional to this new unit is the existing shop for all servicing and mechanical work (where fitting-up used to take place), the machine shop, engine shop and another new unit for car storage.
