Club Weekend 12–13 August 2023

It was back to Club HQ in Worcestershire for our annual E-type Club Day. We had a lovely gathering of Club members who enjoyed chatting, admiring a sweeping display of E-types (many thanks to Josh for parking choreography), plentiful tea and cake and some technical know-how from Club friends Classic Motor Cars and CBR Classic Restorations.

Intermittent showers meant our 'Wet Weather Plan B' came into effect, so we enjoyed a barbecue lunch in the Dutch Barn, surrounded by some of Philip and Julie's stunning automobilia. This was followed by an enjoyable and instructive discussion session, with Ian Callum CBE in conversation with Philip. As former Design Director at Jaguar, Ian – unsurprisingly – had some very interesting anecdotes and views and kept the audience well entertained.

The evening saw us reconvene in the Dutch Barn for a delicious buffet supper and a unique opportunity to see local legends the Blue Merlin Blues band – featuring guitarist Remi Harris – in a wonderfully intimate private venue. Safe to say we danced our socks off!

Sunday's Scenic Drive was also a big hit – meandering through some delightful Welsh roads and enjoying coffee and lunch along the way.

Club Weekend 2022

What a fabulous weekend we had – a scenic drive into the wonderful Welsh countryside on Saturday, Club Day in a beautiful lakeside setting on Sunday, and a delicious Gala Dinner at Stanbrook Abbey.
